about

Emma Morgan was designed in England, 1991. After moving to Melbourne, Australia with her parents at a very young age, it was clear that Emma had a keen love of the arts. Emma grew up talking to her cat, drawing dinosaurs, and trying to create on piano what it would sound like to walk on Jupiter.

Although Emma's hobbies haven't really changed, her interest in drawing and painting earned her many artistic, as well as academic awards and recognition throughout her school years. She was then encouraged by her art teachers to attend Art School where she could further her art education. Emma completed a Visual Arts degree at Monash University in 2012, where she spent most of her time obsessively studying figure painting, anatomical drawing, minimalist architecture and Rekorderlig's pear cider.

Inspired by artists ranging from Rembrandt, Bosch, Mark Rothko, Jenny Saville, Raoul Hausmann, Ericailcane, Marcel Duchamp, Cherry Hood and Lucian Freud, Emma is interested in concepts surrounding human and non human interactions, predators and anthropomorphic figures. Notorious for (bravely) drawing in nothing but fine liner, Emma hopes to create elegant, detailed and thought provoking artworks.

This blog exists to document all of her magical drawing adventures post University.
